Where has the time gone??

I am not very good at this. I just can't seem to update this site very often. Let's not think for a moment, that it's because we lead dull and boring lives. Baseball has officially started....need I say more?? The boys each had practices 2 times a week during April and now each have had their first game. This coming week, I believe we have 5 games total.....ahhh, to sit each night at the ball field!

We're all on the countdown until school is done. I think we figured the boys have 24 days left, which means that Trent has 27. I'm so ready for school to be done.....actually I'm ready for the homework to be done. This summer will bring softball for Trent, all-star baseball for Carter (with tournaments almost every weekend in June and July), hopefully a trip to Valleyfair and maybe Noah's Ark, our 3 week vacation traveling to South Carolina - we'll spend a week in Myrtle Beach and almost a week getting there and another week getting back, and lots of trips to the pool.

Until then, we make the most of everyday....getting lots done around the house, so we don't have to do it during the summer!

Our trip to TARGET FIELD!!

As a season ticket holder, my dad got 4 tickets to go to a special open house of Target Field today. Bummer for him.....he's in California. Can you believe we HAD to use the tickets? :) We were so disappointed....NOT!! The boys (yep, all 3) have been very excited about today. We left about 11:00, parked at the Mall of America and rode the lite rail to Target Field. So by the time we got to the field it was about 1:00. We figured we would stay for a couple hours and then head home. But no....we closed the field at 5:00!! What a great day!!

A nice picture of Target Field......Now let's look inside....

The bullpen.....

Inside Hrbek's Bar and Grill. Supposedly he will be frequenting this restaurant....maybe we will too!!

The logo-stamped tin ceiling inside Hrbek's.

A restaurant (we're assuming....that's what it looked like) for Champion's Club season ticket holders. It's underneath the seats.

The Champion Club section....yes, those are PADDED chairs. I could have taken a nap....Unfortunately this was the one and only time we will ever feel the padding under ours butts....these season tickets average $175-$275/ticket!

These are our seats...a row of only 4 seats. No standing up for everyone as they go back and forth to the concession stand.
Views from our seats...

The plaza....

The middle flag pole is the original flag pole from the "Old Met".

A Dining area for season ticket holders...

the light box.."it can be seen from nearly all seating sections located in the park. Longtime Twins fans will note the colorful design, which emulates the pastel-color facade of the "old Met". "

Kirby Puckett Atrium...

Herb Carneal Press Box...this wall has some of the greatest broadcast calls in Twins History.

Harmon Killebrew...

A wall for his 573 home runs...

Rod Carew Atrium...

They had the field still covered because of the cold temperatures. But the heating coils are on and keeping the field ready for opening day!

The wooden backed seats....one worker told us that Target Field is the only field that has them.

Main videoboard..."the fourth largest videoboard in Major League Baseball, stretches nearly 5800 square feet of 1080p HD television". Are you kidding me? That's bigger than my house....that's more than double my house....

Resting in the train...

What a great day! Thanks dad.....and to top it off...as we were leaving it was announced that Joe Mauer signed an 8 year deal for $184 million dollars!!! Yeah!!

the dentist

I'm happy to report that once again, the boys have no cavities. I guess their 30 second brushings must be adequate. How, I'm not sure, but they are. So I will officially stop my harping. Maybe. We also took Aleah for her first visit. It was a bit early, but I decided I wanted to get all 3 of them on the same dental schedule, so now was as good as time as any to start. She was excited to go and get "pretty teeth". In fact when we got there she marched right up to the receptionist and said, "Hi. I Aleah Rose. I here to get pretty teeth." Unfortunately, she was not too excited once it was her turn. The dentist was able to peek at her teeth only because she was crying!! She's not due to go back until next year....hopefully it will be a bit easier.

Some more pictures...

Evan was part of the jump rope contest at school. They take only the top 20 boys/girls in 1st and 2nd grade to actually be part of the contest. He was so excited when he made the top 20 and was able to have a chance to go to the state jump rope contest. We practiced and practiced at home. When the day came, he jumped almost 10 jumps more than he ever had in that 10 seconds. He ended up placing 5th out of 20 boys!

Carter's colonial hunting and fishing project for Social Studies.

Aleah and Great-Grandma at the hospital waiting for Great-grandpa's surgery to be done. She has developed such a special bond with her great-grandparents!

Our little dare-devil....this is one of those rides that rises to the top and then drops down, bouncing the whole time. It made me sick just watching it, but she did it 4 times!

One of the highlights for Aleah, was meeting Pablo and Uniqua (again!)

the other highlight.....Dora and Diego!

Dressed up like a princess....nice boots, huh?? She lost the boots, for our trip to Target!

And her fascination with babies continues.....

hopefully this works....video of Aleah on that nauseating ride!!

Pictures

The kids love to sled, and thankfully the boys don't mind helping Aleah. Every Christmas Eve, we sled at my parents house....it's one of those traditions that I hope doesn't ever change.

This is Carter's first year in band. He wanted to play the ALTO saxophone, not the tenor. That thing has to be just as heavy as he is. I can almost guarantee this will be the only year in band.

Our family picture - 2009

Don't they look like they LOVE each other??

Ok, yes, I am one of those crazy people that goes out shopping on Black Friday! But I love it! My sister and I have been going for a number of years.....this year it seemed particularly busy though!
